About the Artists

People often ask: 'Why did you start making Bears?' I have always loved bears. It all started with 'Little Ted', a not very cute but much loved sheepskin bear I was given for my first birthday. He is now 43 and has always been there for me, like all bears he listens and doesn't judge. For the last few years I have been collecting bears but, as with all bear collectors, there was always something I would have liked to change. Well that's how all this started as I decided to make my own bear. Having bought a kit, I got started thinking I was going to make my perfect bear. I never finished it because it looked more like a mouse!!!! So began the journey of designing our own patterns. After many hiccups and a lot of laughing we had a bear we loved and Tickletum Bears were born. Why Tickletum? Well, all our bears have tubby steel shot filled tummies just waiting to be tickled. All our bears are individuals, they grow and develop their personality as they are sewn. Each bear is double hand stitched and has a tummy full of love. All the bears have wired arms for that extra cute pose. On other pages you will find some of our bears who have already been adopted and those very new babies who are looking for loving homes.
